Reflect the Light

In this photo shoot, assistant person really had a hard time using reflector. He could not find the light source and got the good angle to reflect sunlight back to model. Maybe he was too nervous? or maybe he just thought too much.

Basically, locating the main lighting source is the first thing to do. It can be sunlight, flash or any light source in order to light the subject. Then adjust the angel of reflector to light up your subject. Different color of reflector can bring up different light effect, such as silver, gold or even a white transplant one (light will be softer).

It is not dangerous at all using a reflector, so no needs to be over thinking how to use reflector is "correct way." Instead, you might need to focus on how to create images with this tool.
